The German Phoenix which rose from the ashes

This triumphal entryway / gate has seen its share of glory and misery. Amazing that it survived the ravages of the deluge of bombs which almost totally destroyed Berlin during WWII. What was once ominous is now a testament to the rebuilding of lives…that of a once proud nation which almost destroyed itself, rose from the ashes of tyranny to become a champion of freedom and leadership once again on the world stage.
